Hare: Yellow Snow Cone (virgin hare) Weather: Shitty. Temp. 35 with rain/snow mix. Heavy to insane all the time. Wind: West at 20-30mph. Hounds assembled in Green Island parking lot and enjoyed all the Natural Ice they could stand. Pack departed promptly at 8:26pm. Trail marked with blu surveyors chalk proved difficult to follow in the pouring rain, snow and howling wind. Hare followed in car to point hounds in right direction. K.O. and Too called Hare on cell phone at 8:41pm. Too was later than usual due to a misunderstanding of the traffic patters in the fair City of North Olmsted. The trail followed RR Tracks. Then an abandoned rail spur into and industrial park. Past YSC's office, through the woods to the Ironwood Cafe. K.O. and Too were now auto hashing and greeted the wet, harried pack. Sunday night is $2.50 tall draft night at the 'Wood. Hounds and Hare enjoyed a tall draft of their choice. Then the hare decided to shorten the route and directed the pack back into Bay Village for the final 1.25 miles. The wilderness leg of the hash will need to be explored some other time. Hare will retrieve wilderness beer stash sometime soon. Unless some high school kid out paintballing discovers an unexpected windfall. Total length of hash: 3 miles. Pack retired to "Mike's Top Shelf Saloon" for the On-In. Ceremonies were conducted and hash friendly amounts of PBR, Genny, hot dogs, burgers and chips were consumed. Hare will hare again so we may enjoy the fire and Flying Squirrel Airshow. Soon K.O. reminded all it was a school night and we were all On-Out. On-On, Yellow Snow Cone |
