PreLube at the Barking Spider, University Heights.

So as we met up for our planning session before the Hash, we realized we really had very little idea what to do for the route, beer stops or On In.  As I had *un a *ace the previous day, and hadn't scouted the route, I had only a vague idea of where to put the beer stops, and no good ideas for the On In.  The clearly marked (and previously ignored) sign proclaiming the 'Quiet Rule' when music was playing eliminated an A to A route, so we were forced to figure things out as we went.

But the universe does provide.....

I was expecting a very low turnout for the Mon. hash, but was pleasantly suprised.  My streak of Virgin Magnet is intact (at two).   The pack gave us a pitcher head start and we looped them around the Wade Oval taking in some nice Case sights.  Knowing that

there were very few real bars in Little Italy didn't prevent us from heading that way, due mostly to a complete lack of options.  As we lead our hashers to the only thing on Mayfield that looked like a real bar and ordered ourselves a beer, the bartender told us he

was closing in 5 min.  As the panic slid in, along with the Budweiser, he (sort of) recommended a place down the block.  The only patron of the bar (Mayfield Cafe?) told us it was a neighborhood place, and 'you can't just show up there wearing bunny ears (Me in my Pubic Hare hat) and not expect some trouble'.  With no options, we scoped the place out and found a bit of HashBar heaven.  The dingy wood panelling and general

crustiness of Lou's Tavern (E.119th?) looked like paradise to me.  Joe welcomed us in, and he and his mother - Phyllis made us really at home.  Midge, the local guy at the bar swapped Cleveland stories with Boner and asked about our goofy drinking/*unning

thing.  We certainly coulda spent the whole night there drinking 5$ pitchers, but Boner and I headed out, again with the 1 pitcher head start.

We headed over to Cedar-Fairmont, my 'hood, and I pointed out a nice 'shortcut' up the hill.  I remembered a trail somewhere going up this hill, but it got lost in the dark and fallen trees.  I think this was Virgin Lisa's favorite part.  and I know B.O. loved hauling her bike up it too!  Well, they all made it anyway - what ever happened to bringing flashlights to a Full Moon Hash???  After dropping off Sidney at my house we headed to Jillian's on Cedar for the On In.

Coors Lite began flowing and we grabbed a section right in the middle of the bar area.  I ignored Too Drunks suggestion that we move to a more out of the way room, as I wanted all of my neighbors to see who just moved in down the street.  While Dick Long couldn't seem to remember too many songs - something that seemed to happen to everyone else as well, in his defense.  We did remember to salute our virgin in proper style,

however, and I think a couple of younger girls at the bar probably wish they hadn't glanced in my direction as I dropped my red and yellow chili pepper shorts.

Down Downs were handed out profusely, and I caught enough that I relinquished my keys.  Being a block from home, this was no problem for me, and our finely organized Hash machinery made sure everyone got back where they needed to go.  Its not a bad thing having a non-alcoholic Hasher (Danielle) in the mix.  Many thanks to Boner for his help haring this, I surely needed it, and learned a few things for my next stint as Pubic Hare.

I have one word for you regarding my next Hash Stunt...

!pinata!

On Unorganized......

Julia Child

P.S.  I learned my lesson with the A to B - I will try to avoid it in the future.  'Course not getting too drunk to drive woulda helped too.....  But maybe that should be one of my rewards for Haring?????
