We gathered on the eve of the Summer Solstice, on the night of the full moon. On-on, we ran down big-tree shaded residential streets. The Beer Stop came up quickly at Hares' Lair near I-90, on the edge of the Rocky River Valley. On-on again, we followed the hares' live trail down a herd path into Rocky River Valley's dark forest. Flashlights? ... We don't need no stinking flashlights! We saw teens circled around a sizable bonfire in the woods .... or did we? Were they preparing for some manner of Pagan Rites? They didn't seem to have any beer so we didn't stop. After a difficult check (OK, we needed the damn flashlights), the pack crossed the wide, but shallow, Rocky River to a Metropark bike path. North on bike path to a check at the Lakewood Animal Shelter/Water Treatment Plant driveway. Up a herd path to Valley View Drive in the City of Rocky River. Shoreland Drive, Wooster Road, and Detroit Road took us back across the Valley into Lakewood. We "sprinted" past the West End bars and back to the nearby Kenilworth for the On-In. Ceremonies were conducted by Religious Advisor Too Drunk. Tacos, wings, and yes, beer were consumed in mass quantities. On-On!
